Prayers December 14, 2012

Filed under: family — enjoyingthechaos @ 1:55 pm

Prayers go out to all families involed in the elementary school shooting in CT.  Tonight I will be holding my babies a little longer, a little tighter.  Keep your loved ones close and make sure to let them all know how much they mean to you.  You never know what the day will bring.

God Bless everyone:)

Ready, Set, Go…. December 12, 2012

So I’ve been searching for a workout program that i can fit into my busy schedule, give me amazing results, and one that doesn’t have me starving myself.

I’m pretty sure I found it.  I’ve been waking up early in the morning to workout and up until yesterday, I’ve been winging it…not any more.

Brianna, a personal trainer who lost 100 lbs herself, has developed a program for women who are trying to lose their baby weight and get the body they want back.  I’m still trying to lose the baby weight from lil b…even though she just turned 6:/

Check it out for yourself over at Bikini Body Mommy

I did the fit test today:
Squat Jumps     27
Speed Squats   27
High Knees      100
Burpees           8
Pushups          25 on my knees
Elbow Planks  18 seconds
Lunges            15
Tricep Dips     12

If you decide to join me..keep me posted as to your progress.

Weekend Recap December 3, 2012

What a great weekend.  Me, mom and the kids left around 12:30 and headed to the beach.  We had to stop for our annual Arby’s lunch but then got right back on the road.

We checked in, headed for some specialty shops and had dinner at the Dough Roller…yum!

The next day, we headed to the outlets for some Christmas shopping:)  After dinner, we bundled up to get ready for the lights!

We hopped on the tram..and we were off..

Sorry pictures are so poor..i just had the camera on my phone:/

Our newest picture in front of the poinsettia tree.  This is my favorite picture every year:)

I have so many exciting things planned this month..Happy Holidays all:)

This is the view from our room!

lil b keeps sitting in the window to watch the lights.

When we got back from dinner last night, look who was hanging out.

The kids were so excited that Skip Friddle joined us at the beach.

We’re off to a long day of shopping at the outlets…this is where my Christmas begins ❤

Options November 29, 2012

So, it’s that time of year when I sit back and start to think about how much weight I have gained within the last year…UGH..

My sister, who just got married in Apirl

Do you see that waist line?  She worked with a trainer for about 7 months prior to the wedding.  Well, she wants me to meet her in the local grocery store parking lot at 5am to start training again.  Sounds good right?

1.  I am not a morning person

2.  I am not a cold weather person (it’s been 38o here in the morning)

3.  If I have to meet her at 5am, then I have to wake up at 4:45am:/

So, with all of that in mind, I have to figure out something to do before I can’t fit into any of my clothes.  I need something other than running…and something that I can commit to.  With two very active little ones at home and working full-time, I am having a hard time finding the time.

My options right now…

Or working with my sister at 5am in the parking lot..freezing my butt off…

I’m going to take my relaxing weekend at the beach to think about it…while eating yummy food I’ll have to say goodbye to for the next 90+days…

What has worked for you?

Ditty and I have been looking for ways to get the kids away from their electronic devices.  We decided a family hike would be perfect…

We headed to the state park to explore some trails…

These smile were priceless:)

You could really see the damage that Sandy caused.  A friend of mine, who took us in today’s journey, told us how trees had fallen and showed us were sand washed into the steam…

The kids had a ball…

Ditty had a ball…

I can’t wait to do it again next week:)

Anyone do anything fun this weekend?

Fallen Leaves

The kids spent the morning raking leaves into our front yard and then jumping in them.

We’re off any minute for a family hike…

BP or Before Pinterest…I mean what in the heck did we do before Pinterest?

Prior to this year, I have always placed Skip Friddle in the most obvious of places.  According to Pinterest…this is no longer good enough.

My kids should wake up to Skip Fishing in our bathroom..  My only question is, what happens in the morning before school when I have three kids that have to be in there using the fishing bowl and brushing teeth?

They are supposed to wake up and find that Skip got into my flour and made a snow angel.  In a small kitchen with little counter space…how does one use most of the counter for an elf snow angel.  Also, with only whole wheat flour in the house, won’t it just look like he is playing in dirty snow?

The diving elf?  One of the rules of the Elf on the Shelf is that NO ONE can touch him.  So, if we go outside one cold December morning and jump into the car for the short ride to the bus stop, how do I drive with him holding onto my steering wheel without touching him?

I love all of these adorable ideas, but with three kids at home, a full-time job, and all the activities three kids have..I’m lucky I remember Skip Friddle is even with us in the month of December.  He has only been here two nights and I find that I go to bed before moving him to a new spot.  I have to occupy the kids with a task so that I can run downstairs and move him quick before little feet are decending the steps to catch me in the act.

Anyone have any quick, cute, fun ideas for their Elf on the Shelf I can borrow?  I don’t want to be a lame Elf placer:/
